Meet the Newest Members of Our Little Croft

Four Very Welcome Arrivals

The sheep have arrived, and we could not be more excited to welcome them to our little croft. There are four of them in total: Tinker, Colin, George and Larry. They have already made themselves at home, exploring their new surroundings and settling into their new routine remarkably quickly.

Although they have only just arrived, each one seems to have a distinct personality. Tinker appears curious and confident, while Colin is a little more cautious when we approach. George has plenty of character, and Larry is already proving that he has a serious interest in anything edible. Of course, we are still getting to know them, so their individual personalities will no doubt become even clearer over the coming weeks.

Getting to Know the Flock

One of the nicest surprises has been how friendly they are. They are naturally a little wary, which is completely understandable in a new environment, but they are already allowing us to get quite close. With a bit of patience, calm voices and plenty of tasty treats, we are hoping it will not be long before they are eating directly from our hands.

Food is certainly one way to win them over. The four of them are enthusiastic eaters and seem to have quickly worked out that people can sometimes be associated with something delicious. We are taking things slowly and letting them approach at their own pace, but every small step feels like progress.

Future Fleece to Look Forward To

They also look as though they could produce some amazing fleeces. It will be fascinating to see how their coats develop and to learn more about caring for them throughout the seasons. Looking after sheep is a new adventure for us, and there will undoubtedly be plenty to learn along the way, from feeding and grooming to keeping them healthy and content.

For anyone wondering about their future, these four are not destined for the pot. They are here to live out their days on our little croft, enjoying plenty of space, fresh air and a peaceful life. We are delighted to have them and are looking forward to watching them settle in, grow in confidence and become part of everyday croft life.

A New Chapter on the Croft

For now, we are simply enjoying getting to know Tinker, Colin, George and Larry. They have already brought plenty of interest and activity to the croft, and it is lovely to see them grazing, exploring and beginning to trust us. We cannot wait to share more updates as their personalities emerge and our new woolly residents become fully settled.
